The Memory Collectors

Author:

Kim Neville

Genre:

Fiction, Contemporary

Overview:

Ev and Harriet both have a unique ability— they can sense the emotions and memories imprinted on everyday objects. Harriet has spent a lifetime collecting to the point of obsession— completing filling every space of her home with these objects. Ev, however, is frighted of her abilities and does everything in her power to run from them. After a chance encounter, these women agree to take risks together, to share hidden pieces of themselves, and learn from each other along the way.

Review:

There’s real darkness in the past, including violence, death, and murder. The characters work hard to conceal their past hurts, even from the reader, because it’s not easy to be vulnerable. But time unfolds their secrets slowly as they either grow and learn to trust again, or dissolve into madness.

My Rating:

4.0 Stars

Beverage Pairing: I’d say these characters earned the chance to make some Fond Memories together… so why not pair it with a cocktail that can do the same (and with this recipe from It Doesn’t Suck…. you know it wont suck.)
