Ghost Music

Author: An Yu

Genre: Literary Fiction

Mood: Emotional. Reflective.

Summary: A lonely music teacher receives mysterious packages of mushrooms from a stranger. When she gets an offer from the sender, she starts an internal exploration of herself while uncovering long-buried secrets— from her husband, mother-in-law, and a world renound pianist who has been missing for over 20 years.

Review: Perfectly executed— I want to rate this higher for pure love of the craft, but am holding back for suspicion this book may lack staying power. But the FMC is fierce, the vibe atmospheric, and I have no complaints about this work of perfection.

My Rating:

4 stars

Beverage Pairing: Because Song Yan receives so many packages of mushrooms, she has to find new and creative ways to cook with them. Lets follow suit with this Shitake Old Fashioned.
