Summary: For the crime of stealing food, May is given the ultimate life sentence: to be stripped of her personhood to become a death eater. In her new occupation, she is not allowed to talk to anyone. No one is allowed to look at her. She must move in silence, eating the sins of the dying to absolve them from eternal death. Yet, when she is asked to eat the for sins the dying have not confessed, she must race against time to learn who is murdering women and framing them for sins they did not commit.

Review: I haven’t heard much about this book, so I wanted to make sure to read it. I was not disappointed. The writer had a strong voice for a naive girl whose been thrust into an adult world that challenges her faith— in god, in humanity, and herself. Beautifully written.
