Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow

Author: Gabrielle Zevin

Mood: Reflective. Emotional. Sad.

Summary: Two childhood frenemies reconnect as adults with the goal to make a video game. This novel follows their thirty year saga of friendship, love, work, and heartache.

Review: I came into this book expecting a fun, light-hearted gaming tale. Don’t be fooled. The found-family saga component of this reminded me of A Little Life (the brilliant tale by Hanya Yanagihara), but without the week of night terrors that followed. Regardless, this was exceptionally well written and I had trouble putting it down.

My Rating: 4.0 stars

Beverage Pairing: Game on with a Super Mario Piranha Plant Cocktail (and cheers to the genius who knew we needed a Nintendo-themed beverage!)
